Literally Politically Correct

At work a number of Taiwanese players had contacted me asking us to change our classification of Taiwan as “Taiwan, A Provence of China.”  At the time my knowledge of programming was limited, but as my search and replace skills improved I modified our Rails installation to just read “Taiwan” — something I felt was ambigious enough not to anger any Chinese nationalists, and also to address the concerns of our Taiwanese players.

I think I was ahead of the curve here, Starbucks!
